I liked that she approached the issue from all angles
January 30, 2018
Liz Wilkey simplifies the complicated world of
autoimmune diseases with humor and wit, and managed to find relevant
quotes from Dr. Seuss to place at the beginning of each chapter. I read
it nearly in one sitting. I liked that she approached the issue from
all angles: as a patient, mother, wife; as recipient of medications,
practitioner of Eastern and Western arts for healing. She provides her
own personal experience with...Read More

The short review: This is a must-read primer for
anybody directly or indirectly affected by one or more autoimmune
diseases, and even for those who aren’t even sure what an autoimmune
disease is.
The longer review: With my own family history of autoimmune diseases, but little real understanding of what those diseases were or what they meant to my relatives, I thought that this book might help me understand what...Read More |

Fabulous read!
December 17, 2017
Liz Wilkey has written a humorous and interesting
book. I couldn’t put it down. If I had the opportunity to tell Michael
what you don’t want him to know, I couldn’t because the thought got
away! It went to thought heaven, and you know about that!

What a wonderful gift Liz Wikey has given to the world
November 28, 2017
What a wonderful gift Liz Wikey has given to the
world! So many of her reflections resounded deeply with my mother and
her experiences living with Lupus for 30 plus years. She would often
say, Other people have it worse than me." Family and friends would come
visit during a crisis but disappear during the many years in between. My
mother would have loved your book. I am so grateful to Liz Wikey for
sharing her story.

Courage in the Face of Monumental Struggles
November 21, 2017
I thought the book was very well written and witty. I
love all of the Dr. Seuss quotes at the beginning of each chapter. Even
though the author has been through more than any one person should have
to go through and continues to go through, I am amazed by her positive
attitude and that she hasn't let this bring her down. I admire her
courage and hope that all those who read the book will benefit from her
insights and experi...Read More

I couldn't put the book down. Written from the
heart, the author was able to inform others with humor and insight about
the trials and tribulations of living with an autoimmune illness. Kudos
to Liz and her family for sharing their faith, fortitude and honesty in
their journeys. If you have ever known anyone with an autoimmune
issue, this is a must read. I am giving the book to family & friends
for Christmas.

emotional. Using both scientific fact and humor, Liz eloquently relays
both her and her family's struggles with all the things that come along
with a lifelong illness . A very worthwhile read for anyone looking for
a deeper level of understanding - we all know people with chronic

A Must-Read for Friends & Relatives of Autoimmunity Patients
September 7, 2017
I have friends and family with autoimmune disorders
and had no idea the pain and suffering they endure. This book paints a
clear picture of the tortuous ambiguity that autoimmunity represents.
Whether its the anguish of finding a clinical diagnosis, the
unpredictable daily struggles of shopping, cooking, or sleeping, or,the
loneliness of being saddled with a disease that no one understands, this
book has given me a starting...Read More

Bravely Waging War on Autoimmunity

An insightful journey into the world of
autoimmunity. Written from the human and humane perspective, this book
weaves medical science with physical, emotional and psychological
aspects of this disease. The stories and anecdotes are personal and
cleverly written. A key element of waging a war on autoimmunity is
understanding it for what it is. If this book helps just one person who
suffers from this enigmatic ailment, then the...Read More
